Senior Product Manager


Position Summary

Ensures the effective implementation and integration of product related programs within ProFund Group business initiatives. Responsible for owning various elements of the launch, as well as the product management of assigned funds.



Essential Job Functions1

  1. 1. Develop and write content:
    a) For client facing staff to answer questions about products
    b) For outside marketing organizations to develop material
  2. 2. Maximize growth opportunities around a defined set of products:
    a) Manage assigned product line-up and implement opportunities to drive assets and value to the product suite
    b) Product expert and point person for sales and marketing questions
    c) Sales and marketing strategy
    d) Work with Marketing / Sales to develop and implement key messages to be delivered based on market conditions
    e) Product feature analysis (spreads, expense ratios, etc.)
    f) Responsible for competitive tracking
    g) Work to enhance fund line-up by analyzing share prices, spreads, small funds that should be closed, etc.
    h) Responsible for product positioning
    i) Develop processes around product management, customer channel segmentation strategy and index relationships
    j) Participate as needed in research around each product usage
    k) Assist in the solicitation of new business relationships for the ETF products
  3. 3. Functions may include: a) Contractual negotiations with key external parties
    b) Establish structure / schedule around proactively meeting and working with each of our strategic partnerships (e.g., Credit Suisse)
    c) Identify and implement new strategic opportunities
    d) Work with External Partners to identify new product opportunities and support existing products
  4. 4. Special Projects: a) Firm wide strategic initiatives as assigned
    b) Departmental initiatives as assigned
    c) Other duties and responsibilities as assigned



Education and Experience

  1. BS/BA and 9 or more years experience; product management. Experience with exchange traded funds strongly desired.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of strategic product management for the mutual funds (ETF strongly preferred) industry required including strong knowledge of investment vehicles.
  2. Demonstrated business product strategy expertise with a record of developing and implementing successful product strategies.
  3. Superior analytical and broad-based business management skills. Innovative and creative thinker.
  4. Effective written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills required.
  5. Relationship management experience a plus.
  6. Knowledge and expertise in Microsoft office products.
  7. Ability to work without close supervision to the highest levels of quality and communicate problems and/or concerns in a timely fashion.
  8. Ability to manage complex projects and initiatives.
